Valentina Lorusso is a Policy Officer in the Markets and Digital Innovation Department at the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), where she works on the development of EU regulatory policy with a focus on market structure. Since joining ESMA in 2018, she has contributed to key legislative initiatives aimed at strengthening the integration and functioning of EU capital markets, including work related to the Savings and Investment Union and its implications for key financial players.
She currently serves as rapporteur for the Secondary Markets Working Group and is engaged in the evolution of the Market Integration Package, with particular focus on proposals concerning the regulatory framework for EU trading venues. Her expertise lies at the intersection of market microstructure and regulatory design.
Valentina holds a PhD in Finance from Imperial College London.
