Tilda Woodard

Tilda Woodard, Command Leadership and Management, Britannia Royal Naval College. Tilda is a former RAF helicopter pilot with extensive operational experience flying Search and Rescue and Support helicopters. Her career included a three-and-a-half-year exchange with the Royal Navy Commando Helicopter Force, operating across Bosnia, the Middle East, the United States, and the Caribbean from multiple maritime platforms.

 

After 16 years of full-time service, culminating as an Advanced Qualified Helicopter Instructor, she returned to military aviation with the Royal Navy Reserves, instructing student pilots on the Sea King Mk4. She subsequently transitioned into Command Leadership and Management, coaching and assessing leadership in Naval Officer Cadets at Britannia Royal Naval College, Dartmouth – a role she continues on a part-time basis today. She also returned to frontline flying in 2019 as an EC135 pilot with Devon Air Ambulance, a position she held until 2024, and remains highly active in sailing and endurance sport.
