Bundesverband der Wertpapierfirmen (bwf)
Bundesverband der Wertpapierfirmen e.V. (bwf) – the German Federal Association of Investment Firms – is the independent trade association representing firms providing investment services under MiFID or crypto-asset services under MiCAR.
Founded in September 2003, the vast majority of bwf members are Class 2 investment firms under the IFD/IFR framework (WpIG – the German national implementation). Many bwf members are long-standing users of the FIX Protocol, and the association has actively supported FIX initiatives and events for several years. bwf is delighted to formalise and deepen this engagement through membership in the FIX Trading Community, contributing to the ongoing development of global electronic trading standards, protocol evolution and industry best practices. Through its active participation in the European Forum of Securities Associations (EFSA) and the International Council of Securities Associations (ICSA), bwf works hand-in-hand with sister organisations across Europe and worldwide to champion fair, efficient and resilient capital markets that drive sustainable growth and innovation.
