This year’sconference for the first time is also being held in association with a number of Trade Associations, including The Association for Financial Markets in Europe, AFME, International Capital Market Association, ICMA, the European Debt Market Association, EDMA, and the German Investment Funds Association, BVI. This new partnering initiative will also ensure the best content on the day for all the attending industry participants and only serves to strengthen the debate.

A main plenary on, ‘Brexit – What Next for the Industry’ will take place, as well assessionson the Equity Liquidity Landscape, Unbundling, New Market Eco Structure, Trading with Transparency andFinding Alpha in Fixed Income. Matthew Coupe, Co-Chair EMEA Regional Committee & EMEA Regulatory Subcommittee, FIX Trading Community, Director, Barclays Investment Bank, said, We’re thrilled that the FIX Trading Community has been able to secure a keynote speaker of such high calibre in Verena Ross, who will no doubt be able to share important insight on some of the year’s most pressing topics of concern for the industry. We know she will draw in delegates in to hear more from ESMA’s perspective on the challenges and opportunities in the year ahead and beyond.”

Rebecca Healey, Co-Chair of the EMEA Regional Committee, FIX Trading Community and Head of EMEA Market Structure & Strategy, Liquidnet, commented, “Having such an important Keynote Speaker will, without doubt, enable delegates to engage with ESMA and hopefully better navigate the complex regulatory structure. Together with the initiative to partner with Trade Associations and bringing them into the heart of the conference, FIX Trading Community’s FIX EMEA conference stands to be a ‘must-go’ to event.”

Since its launch in 1998, the FIX Trading Community has been at the forefront of change in the industry. Important milestones have been reached at previous EMEA Trading Conferences – the formation of MiFID II working groups, discussion of best practices surrounding IPO automation, the greater adoption of FIX in the post-trade space, the ongoing evolution of fixed income trading, the need to extend FIX to meet cybersecurity requirements, and the big question of data and how to harness it for the benefit of the industry as a whole. There are always action points for members and this year’s event will be no different.
