Kerstin Hermansson

Kerstin is Managing Director of the Swedish Securities Dealers’ Association (SSDA) since 2006. Her first major task as managing director of SSDA was the MIFID 1 implementation; from dialoque with legislators and regulators to review of all SSDA selfregulation and standards. Under Kerstin’s leadership SSDA has continued to focus on serving and supporting its members in regulatory developments and infrastructure projects. The SSDA has also become more and more active on following the EU agenda, especially through an increased co-operation with the other Nordic associations and the establishment of the Nordic Securities Association.

Kerstin is active within the European Banking Association (e.g. chairing the Secondary Market WG) and the European Forum for Securities Associations. Kerstin is a board member of AP7 which is the stateowned alternative to the private investment funds offered by the Swedish premium pension system – AP7 has around 300 billion SEK under management.

Kerstin has a Master of Laws from the University of Lund. She started as a young lawyer in an investment firm in 1985. She joined Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken in 1991, first as a lawyer serving mainly the custody area and then as Head of Compliance in the investment bank arm. Kerstin has been an expert in several government investigations related to securities law and regulation.
