Hanno Klein, FIX Technical Director and Global Technical Committee Co-Chair, FIX Trading Community, Founder and Senior Standards Advisor, FIXdom

Hanno Klein works as an independent consultant specialised in the standardisation of electronic interfaces and is the founder of FIXdom – “The Wisdom of FIX” in Germany (April 2019).

Previously, he has worked for more than 20 years at Deutsche Börse Group that provides the technology for Eurex (trading and clearing), its main derivatives exchange and clearinghouse as well as for Xetra, its cash market, and the Regulatory Reporting Hub. He joined the company in 1997 and worked in various positions and projects of strategic and operational nature in Germany and the USA. From 2001 to 2005, he served as Vice President of Deutsche Börse Systems Inc. in Chicago and then until March 2019 as Senior Vice President of Deutsche Börse AG in Germany.

In June 2006, he helped to re-establish the FPL Exchanges/ECN Working Group (EEWG) which was elevated to the Global Exchanges and Markets Committee (GExMC) in September 2007 and co-chaired by him until its transition to the Listed Products & Exchanges Committee end of 2013. He is co-chair of the FIX Global Technical Committee (GTC) for the EMEA region since July 2010 and a member of the FIX Global Steering Committee (GSC).

His primary objective is to enable and promote the harmonised usage of FIX by the financial community, especially by exchanges, clearinghouses and other marketplaces. An increased adoption of FIX by this group of users requires a focus on performance together with true standardisation.

Lisa Taikitsadaporn, Technical Program Manager, FIX Trading Community, Managing Partner, Brook Path Partners, Inc.

Ms. Taikitsadaporn has over 20 years of experience with the FIX Protocol and its use for straight-through processing, covering pre-trade, trade, post-trade, clearing and regulatory reporting across different asset classes. Since founding Brook Path Partners in 2001, she has advised her clients on using FIX beyond just orders and executions into other functional areas that FIX supports today. More recently she has been consulting on using FIX to support regulatory reporting requirements for different regimes including Dodd-Frank, and MiFID II / MiFIR reporting regimes.

Between 2012 and 2015 the Brook Path team was commissioned to work with FIX and the Futures Industry Association (FIA) members to enhance the FIX Protocol to support OTC derivatives, and worked with the FIA to submit enhancement requests for FIX to support various different aspects of Dodd-Frank reporting requirements that affects their clearing members. The Brook Path team continues to support their clients’ and FIX Trading Community’s EMEA working groups and the Global Technical Committee in their efforts to enhance FIX Protocol to support various reporting regimes.

Ms. Taikitsadaporn also serves as a subject matter expert in FIX’s collaboration with the ISO 20022 standard via participation on ISO TC68’s ISO20022 Registration Management Group. She also represents FIX Trading Community on the Accredited Standards Committee’s X9D sub-committee, Convenor of ISO TC68/SC9’s Working Group 1 (ISO 20022 Semantic Models Working Group), and voting member of TC68/SC8’s ISO 10962 (CFI) Maintenance Agency. She is also one of the liaisons representing FIX Trading Community in other standards groups such as the Object Management Group.

Ms. Taikitsadaporn earned her Master of Science in Finance from the McCallum Graduate School of Business at Bentley University in Waltham, Massachusetts, and her Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Management Information Systems from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Brian Lees, Co-Chair Global Buy-side Working Group, FIX Trading Community, AVP, Manager, Equity Trading Product Owner, Capital Group

Brian Lees currently manages Capital Group’s proprietary equity order management system. He played a central role in the development of the firm’s first FIX implementation in 1999 and has been closely involved with the application of FIX in the equities space for 20 years. He has been an active participant in the Americas Buy-side Working Group since its inception, serves as co-chair of the Global Buy-side Working Group and is currently engaged in efforts to apply FIX in preparation for MiFID II.
