Simon Hogg, Managing Director, Head of eFX Quants, State Street Corporation

Simon Hogg leads the quant team for State Street’s eFX offering. Simon spent the first half of his career as a software engineer in the telecommunications sector before switching to finance. Having joined State Street in 2011, Simon has worked in electronic FX trading for 10 years. Previous to State Street Simon was on the eFX desks at Citi and Dresdner Kleinwort.

Simon holds a Bachelor of Science (Physics) and a Masters in Applied Statistics.

Nicola White, Managing Director and Global COO of Fixed Income Market Making, Citadel Securities. 

Nicola White is a Managing Director and the Global COO of the Fixed Income Market Making business at Citadel Securities. This business includes interest rate and credit asset classes, including both derivative and cash products. Nicola is responsible for business development, new markets advances and regulatory solutions.

Nicola has over 13 years of experience in financial services, spanning Trading and Software development. Prior to joining Citadel Securities, she was the global head of Electronic Markets within the Fixed Income Markets division at Morgan Stanley, where she held numerous leadership roles since joining in 2003, the most recent of which was driving the electronification of Fixed Income for the bank.

Nicola is on the Board of Boys Hope Girls Hope New York and is Co-Head of the LADACIN New Jersey Marathon Committee.

Nicola received a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Waterloo.

Chris White, Founder and CEO, ViableMkts

Chris White has 18 years of financial services experience with more than 13 years dedicated to fixed income electronic business development. His journey in financial technology began in 2003 when he joined the electronic corporate bond trading start up, MarketAxess. After helping establish the MarketAxess platform, Mr. White transitioned his career to the sell side, working for leading investment banks like Barclays, Lehman and Goldman Sachs where he was responsible for modernizing their respective credit market making businesses. During his time at Goldman Sachs (2010 – 2015), Mr. White invented the GSessions corporate bond trading platform and the first corporate bond IOI.

Currently, Mr. White is the founder and CEO of two companies, ViableMkts, an advisory firm that provides strategic guidance on financial technology and fixed income market structure and BondCliQ, a start-up company that is building an innovative central market system for corporate bonds.

In addition to ViableMkts and BondCliQ, Mr. White is the founder and editor of the Friday Newsletter (www.fridaynewsletter) and a professor at the New York Institute of Finance where he teaches a course in market structure mechanics and electronic trading.

James Chrystal, President Emeritus, NEX Traiana.

James’  responsibilities  at NEX Optimisation include new business and market development for new products.  In this role, he is responsible for driving the company’s business growth and profitability in emerging lines of business.

As a co-founder of Traiana, part of NEX Optimisation in 2000, James has served in a variety of roles focused on market development and revenue generation, including global head of sales and business development.  He has more than 20 years of marketing and sales experience in the financial marketplace.

Prior to Traiana, he served in marketing and sales roles at the Chicago Board of Trade, the last b eing director of e-trading sales and distribution for the CBOT-EUREX Joint Venture, Inc., an alliance between two of the world’s largest derivatives exchanges.

Daniel Kim, Head of Business Development, SFOX.

Daniel Kim is the Head of Business Development at SFOX, an advanced trading platform for crypto currency markets. Previously, Daniel was Head of Sales at Gemini Exchange and a Director at itBit, where he helped build the exchange operations and institutional trading desk. He has an extensive experience in bitcoin and has been involved with digital currency trading for over 4 years. He also independently advises ICOs from time-to-time.

Stefan Kutko, Head of Client Technology, Trumid.

Stefan is Head of Client Technology at Trumid, and is responsible for all aspects of technology related to client interaction through user interfaces and APIs.  Stefan joined Trumid as part of the company’s acquisition of Electronifie, an all-to-all corporate bond trading platform where he was VP Engineering and a member of the founding team. Prior to joining Electronifie, Stefan was Head of Capital Markets Technology at Liquidnet where he launched a private shares trading system for buy-side institutional investors to access pre-IPO liquidity in high-growth tech companies. Stefan formerly held positions at Fidessa in the FIX connectivity group, and GE Healthcare in the advanced technology group. Stefan graduated with a Computer Engineering degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Chris Walsh, CEO, AcadiaSoft, Inc.

Chris Walsh is the Chief Executive Officer of Acadiasoft, Inc.  He has been with Acadiasoft since 2012 and had served as the Chief Operating Officer, until being named CEO in July of 2015. Chris has over 20 years of leadership experience in the financial services technology sector.  Prior to joining Acadiasoft, Chris was a Senior Vice President with NYSE Technologies and ran its buy side services and solutions group. Among his many accomplishments, Chris held leadership positions with NYFIX where he served as both Head of OMS Division and the Strategy Function. He also was Co-founder of Radius Partners, a financial messaging software provider, which was acquired by FundTech.  Chris began his career with Thomson Financial and was instrumental in formation of Omgeo, LLC, a joint venture and market-leading post-trade utility.

Steven Wager, Vice President, Product, Fidelity Labs.

Steven Wager (Steve), serves as Vice President of Product within the Fidelity Center for Applied Technology, focused on cryptocurrencies and blockchain.  Mr. Wager has over 20 years of experience in emerging technologies and securities services with a broad range of roles including; roles in product, sales, operations and client services. Prior to joining Fidelity, Steve was Vice-President of Development and Operations at the Paxos Trust Company, overseeing the firm’s initiatives in developing private blockchain solutions for capital markets. He is a leader in both financial services innovation and business development and is helping Fidelity develop sustainable technology initiatives for internal and customer use. Steve received his B.A. in business administration from SUNY Albany and earned his MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Business.

Thomas Venezia, Senior Vice President, Global Head of Trading Capabilities – Exchange-Traded Instruments, Financial & Risk, Thomson Reuters.

Tom Venezia is the Global Head of the Trading Capabilities business for exchange-traded instruments within the Trading business unit in the Financial & Risk division of Thomson Reuters. Thomson Reuters Trading delivers financial information, news, collaboration, and transactions services to support the trading floor activities of buy- and sell-side clients across global financial markets.  The Exchange-Traded Instruments trading business focuses on news, content and transactional capabilities of the equity and derivative exchange market places.

Tom has over 20 years of experience in the financial markets working in various roles and leading several teams including sales, support, product management and business analysis. He has served as Global Head of Trading Capabilities since 2013 focused on Thomson Reuters order and execution routing business, liquidity discovery tools and external relationships with EMS and OMS providers. Tom was a senior member of the REDI acquisition deal team and is now a member of the management team for the Thomson Reuters REDI solution. He is currently a Director of the REDI Global Technologies LLC Broker Dealer and a member of the REDI Global Technologies LLC board of directors.

Tom first joined Reuters in October 2001 following its acquisition of Bridge Information Systems Inc, a market data and agency trading company.  He joined Bridge as an electronic trading specialist in 1999 where he supported the trading desk and managed the electronic trading sales and support teams.  Tom has considerable experience in the financial markets having worked at Chase Bank in New York from 1994 to 1996.  He then moved to QV Trading Systems Inc. from 1996 to 1999, where he held a number of positions within the fixed income and equities trading divisions, designing and implementing transactional platforms for some of the largest banks and brokerage firms on the street.

Tom has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and Finance and a Master of Science Degree in Information Systems, as well as advanced certifications in Object Oriented Development and Design and Technology Project Management from Baruch College and Villanova University, respectively.

Joseph Selvaggio, Vice President, State Street Global Markets.

Joseph is Head of Fixed Income Credit Intermediation at State Street Global Markets (SSGM) where he is responsible for the global management of SSGM’s Fixed Income Trading & Clearing business. He joined SSGM in 2013 to run and expand the Credit Intermediation desk with responsibilities including client relationship management, business development, and product strategy.

Prior to joining State Street, Joe was a Senior Market Specialist with Calypso Technology where he provided market insight and product expertise on Calypso’s Front Office and Risk offerings. Prior to this, he ran Fixed Income Middle Office at Societe Generale where he was responsible for a team of 30+ Trading Assistants across Credit, Rates, FX, & Treasury businesses.

Joe is a Fordham University College of Business graduate, holds LEAN and Yellow Belt Six Sigma Certifications, and is a licensed Series 7 & Series 63 Registered Representative with the SEC.
