Andrew Oppenheimer, Head of Business Development at Nasdaq

Andrew is Head of Business Development and Strategy for US Equities at Nasdaq. His responsibilities range from account coverage, product, policy and strategic initiatives. Prior to his current role, Andrew headed up product at Nasdaq for US Equities. Before joining Nasdaq in 2017, Andrew worked at KCG as product manager for the ATS and lead its migration to new infrastructure and updating its execution logic. As a client facing product manager, he spoke to clients regarding execution quality and performance while continually sourcing new business. He focused on keeping the ATS running smoothly and compliant growing trading volume and revenues through involvement in business strategy, product development, sales and overall advocacy for the ATS. Prior to joining KCG, Andrew worked at Cantor Fitzgerald to launch and manage the trading strategies of a 6 billion dollar quantitatively enhanced index fund.

John Graf leads Equities Market Development at the New York Stock Exchange, where he focuses on advancing the NYSE’s unique market model prioritizing price discovery and stability. He drives client engagement and strategic growth across NYSE’s 5 equity exchanges. John previously held senior roles in sales and product development at the NYSE, helping to shape initiatives among the exchange’s trading participants and technology partners.

John has extensive experience across the financial services industry and has worked with participants spanning the global markets ecosystem. Prior to joining the NYSE, John was a Senior Managing Director of Transaction Sales at Nasdaq and Director of Equity Sales at BATS Global Markets. Earlier in his career, he led trading technology and support teams at Morgan Stanley and Bloomberg, in both New York and London, overseeing global trading operations and trade support.

Peter Wemyss is an Lead Product Manager within the Global Trading and Market Data division at Iress. His primary responsibilities encompass Product leadership and the ongoing evolution of Cloud Connectivity for the OMS, Retail, and Institutional product suites, with a focus on innovation in FIX, API, Third Party Connectivity and Risk Management.

Prior to his tenure at Iress, he was at Refinitiv overseeing a project team primarily focussed on EMEA electronic trading and possesses over 24 years of experience within the industry.

Ms. Simmer is an executive vice president and leads global equity trading based in the New York office. She oversees execution across cash equities, equity derivatives, and equity delta one across PIMCO’s global investment platform. Prior to joining PIMCO in 2010, she was a trader focusing on equities, foreign exchange, and preferred securities for Deutsche Bank Asset Management.

Previously, Ms. Simmer was a foreign exchange trading associate at ABN AMRO. She received Market Media’s WIF Excellence in Trading award in 2019 and the Women’s Bond Club Rising Star award in 2015. She has 19 years of investment experience and holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and undergraduate degrees in finance and economics as well as an international business certificate from the University of Iowa.

Brian Hyndman is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Blue Ocean Technologies, LLC.

Previously, Brian was the Senior Vice President of Global Information Services for The NASDAQ OMX Group, Inc. In this role, he was responsible for the creation and dissemination of valuable information from the quoting and trading in NASDAQ OMX’s trading systems worldwide. Mr. Hyndman oversees various internal teams, including Sales, Product Management, Content Administration & Policy, and New Business Development.

He previously served as Senior Vice President of Transaction Services and was responsible for managing operations of U.S. equities trading platforms including The NASDAQ Stock Market, NASDAQ OMX BX and NASDAQ OMX PSX.

Prior to joining NASDAQ in 2004, Mr. Hyndman was the President of BRUT, an electronic communications network (ECN) that competed with the various equity markets in the U.S. He presided over the BRUT’s merger with Strike Technologies in 2000, the sale of BRUT to Sungard Data Systems in 2002 and the eventual sale of BRUT to The NASDAQ Stock Market in 2004.

Prior to joining BRUT, Mr. Hyndman served as Vice President of Execution Services for the National Discount Brokers Group, managing 120 employees. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the State University of New York at Oswego. Mr. Hyndman has held a variety of FINRA licenses and from the National Association of Securities Dealers, including the 4, 7, 24, 27, 53 and 63.

Travis Ni is the Head of Equities Trading Americas at GIC. In this role, he oversees all equities trading activities in the region and leads innovations in trading technology and AI development.

Travis joined GIC in 2018 as a multi-asset trader, focusing on electronic trading in equities, futures, and FX. In 2022, he expanded his scope to include ECM, cash equities high-touch trading, and equity derivatives trading.

Before joining GIC, Travis worked at Goldman Sachs and Citigroup, specializing in algorithmic trading, market structure, and alternative trading systems.

Travis earned his B.S. degree with a triple major in Applied Mathematics, Economics, and Statistics, along with a minor in Computer Science, from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He also earned an M.S. degree in Financial Engineering from Columbia University.

Transitioning to roles at Macquarie Capital India and Virtu Financial Hong Kong in Asian Electronic Sales & Trading, he demonstrated adaptability and deepened his proficiency in electronic trading platforms and strategies, particularly within Asian markets. Jean-Marc blends academic knowledge with practical experience and has a comprehensive understanding of global finance. He holds a B.S. in Economics & Political Science from Texas Christian University – Fort Worth.

Jesse Greif is the Chief Product Officer of OneChronos, based in New York.

Before joining OneChronos, Jesse was Head of Product for Goldman Sachs Principal Liquidity Solutions, providing traders & asset managers electronic tools to access Goldman’s internal capital through algorithm & routing offerings for intraday and benchmark liquidity.

Before Principal Liquidity Solutions, Jesse was global COO of Goldman’s Equities Systematic Market Making business.

Jesse holds an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Psychology from Northeastern University. He also holds FINRA Series 24, 57, 63, and 7 licenses.

Jim Toes has served as President and CEO of Security Traders Association (STA) since 2011. In this role, Mr. Toes maintains STA’s relationship with U.S. regulators and congressional policymakers, advocating for the employees and customers of the financial markets. Under Mr. Toes’ leadership, STA has written more than 50 comment letters on a wide range of issues under the regulatory oversight of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Department of Treasury, Commodities and Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), FINRA, and the Senate and House Financial Services Committees. In addition, Mr. Toes has penned close to 100 articles on current events and human interest stories that resonate well with individual members and align with STA’s core principles.

Mr. Toes has nearly 35 years of experience in the securities business, particularly within equity and options sales, trading, and clearing. Prior to joining STA, Mr. Toes was a Managing Director at Bank of America Merrill Lynch for 18 years, where he held various management positions, interacting with a broad range of clients including institutional and middle market asset managers, broker-dealers, and retail investors. Over the course of his career, Mr. Toes has also used his breadth of market structure knowledge to serve on various best execution and market structure committees and has testified before Congress. As a past President of the Security Traders Association of New York and a former Governor and Secretary of STA, Mr. Toes has a deep understanding of the STA organization and the vital role its 24 Affiliate organizations in North America play in the success and mission of the Association.
