MiFID II – post implementation issues

The effort deployed by the FIX MiFID II Working Groups over the past two years, and the resulting guidelines for the appropriate use of standards including the FIX protocol, have significantly contributed to what was a relatively smooth MiFID II implementation. Now we are over a week into MiFID II, we want to keep up the momentum, and proactively address any outstanding issues, including those that were known before implementation, as well as those that have only become apparent in the last week.

To that end, we are asking the industry to propose issues that need to be addressed, and fall within the scope of FIX as a standards organisation (so not exclusively focussing on the FIX protocol). As an example, the following is a brief (and not exhaustive) list of the issues identified so far. Please note that examples 2 and 3 are related.

We will collate and allocate identified issues to Working Groups for resolution, as prioritised by the industry. Issues identified will be treated as generic industry problems, and not attributed to specific firms or groups of participants.
